The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Bala Mohammed was declared the winner of the state’s March 18th governorship election by the Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, a former chief of the air staff, had their plea denied by the tribunal.

It was decided that because the election was legally conducted, there was no compelling reason to annul it.

A three-person panel led by Justice P.T. Kwahar rendered the decision.

Mohammed defeated Air Marshal Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, who received 432,272 votes, according to INEC’s March election results.
